Women all over Dallas want a curvier, more sculpted bottom. After all, it is the perfect ending to the coveted hourglass silhouette. If you’ve been considering having a Brazilian butt lift at Dr. Hopkins’ clinic, you may be wondering what the recovery process will be like. And because Dr. Hopkins wants each of his patients to be fully educated before they have their procedure, he has provided the following information to help you be more prepared for your Brazilian butt lift recovery.
Brazilian Butt Lift 101
A Brazilian butt lift is a specialized fat transfer procedure that changes the size and shape of Dallas women’s bottoms without having to insert implants. During your Brazilian butt lift, Dr. Hopkins will use liposuction to harvest fat from the problem area you have chosen. After he does this, Dr. Hopkins will filter the fat cells and inject them into your gluteal muscles. This extra fat is what provides women with a curvier, lifted behind.
A Brazilian butt lift is considered to be safer than butt lifts of the past that used implants. It also has the potential to last longer than butt implants. In fact, a Brazilian butt lift can last a lifetime if you follow Dr. Hopkins’ post-op instructions.
Brazilian Butt Lift Recovery
During your Brazilian butt lift recovery process you will need to avoid putting pressure on your bottom. This is the most crucial part of your recovery. If you put pressure on your buttocks before you have been cleared to do so by Dr. Hopkins, you run the risk of killing the injected fat cells that were transferred to the area. To prevent this, you will need to sleep on your stomach or your side or prop up your legs with pillows to recline on your back without putting pressure on your bottom. This also means that you won’t be able to drive or sit in a chair. Anything that would put direct pressure on your bottom will be off-limits for about two weeks following your Brazilian butt lift surgery.
After your Brazilian butt lift in our Dallas clinic, you will also be restricted from many of your normal daily activities. You will not be able to perform regular household chores or lift your small children. Because of this, Dr. Hopkins suggests that his Dallas patients enlist the help of family and friends during their recovery. Having someone with you as you recover, especially the first few days after your surgery will be especially nice since you’ll likely need help changing positions, cooking, and getting to your follow up appointments with Dr. Hopkins.
Once Dr. Hopkins has ensured you are healing properly from your Brazilian butt lift, he will clear you to return to your regular daily activities. This typically happens about two weeks after your surgery. However, he does recommend that his patients avoid doing any strenuous activity or exercise until about 6 weeks post-op. Again, he will let you know when you will be cleared to hit the gym again. After all, you don’t want to start working out too soon and burn off all the fat that Dr. Hopkins transferred to your buttocks.
